DRI · MISSION

Our Mission

Welcome to the Developmental Research Institute. This site serves as a repository for research and information related to Loevinger ego development models and the broader field of developmental psychology across the lifespan. We are continually expanding this resource, bringing forward research that illuminates the emergence and unfolding of this developmental field.

Mission Statement

Supporting the development of humanity

Our mission is to support the development of humanity: to help improve policy and approaches to education, organizational culture change, and spiritual development through the following efforts.

Document the nature, patterns and full-spectrum trajectory of consciousness development in a central clearinghouse.

Researching the impact of developmental approaches in individuals and human systems by grounding research in application, and application in research.

Safeguarding and fostering the evolution of research models and assessment tools that document this unfolding of awareness.

Theory into practice and practice into theory

VISION

We envision a world where the understanding of how consciousness unfolds, across individuals, organizations, and societies, is widely accessible, rigorously researched, and practically applied. A world where developmental awareness informs how we lead, learn, relate, and build institutions for the common good.
